Category: Master Spas Filters

Master Spas uses the EcoPur Charge filtration system across most of its hot tub and swim spa lines. Unlike a standard single cartridge, EcoPur Charge uses two components: an outer filter that captures debris and particles, and an inner mineral element that inhibits bacteria and cuts chlorine use by up to 75%. Getting the right combination depends on your series and model year.

Need just the inner mineral element? The EcoPur Charge PMA-EPR (X268532) is the universal inner cartridge for all 2017–2024 EcoPur Charge systems and is sold separately.

How the EcoPur Charge System Works

The outer filter is a pleated cartridge that catches hair, debris, and particles each filtration cycle. The inner mineral element (X268532/PMA-EPR) holds copper and zinc media that naturally kills bacteria, inhibits algae, and reduces the chlorine your spa needs by up to 75%. The two components run on different replacement schedules: the outer filter every 6 months, the inner element annually. The sets above include both components already matched and sized for your specific series.

Filter Replacement Schedule

  • Monthly: Rinse the outer filter with a garden hose to clear debris buildup
  • Every 6 months: Replace the outer filter
  • Annually: Replace the inner EcoPur Charge mineral element (X268532)
  • Tip: Order a spare outer filter when you replace the inner element so you are never caught short

Frequently Asked Questions

Which filter fits my Master Spas hot tub?
Use the series table above. If your spa was built before 2017 or you are unsure of your series, contact our team with your model year and serial number.

What is the difference between the outer filter and the EcoPur Charge inner element?
The outer filter removes physical debris. The inner element (X268532/PMA-EPR) contains mineral media that reduces bacteria and cuts chlorine use by up to 75%. Both need regular replacement, but on different schedules.

Can I replace just the inner element without replacing the outer filter?
Yes. The PMA-EPR (X268532) is sold separately and fits any 2017–2024 EcoPur Charge housing. If your outer filter is still in good condition, replacing just the inner element is fine.

Can I clean the inner element instead of replacing it?
No. The copper and zinc media degrades with chemical exposure. Rinse with water only and replace annually, or sooner if you see cracking or discoloration.

What changed for 2025 models?
Master Spas updated the filter housing design for 2025 Twilight, Legend, H2X, and MP Signature models. These spas require X268560 and X268566, which are not interchangeable with pre-2025 parts. If you have a 2025 model, use the 2025 row in the table above or contact us to confirm before ordering.
