Master Clear Alkalinity & pH Down is a granular sodium bisulfate formula that lowers both pH and total alkalinity in your hot tub water. High pH and alkalinity can cause cloudy water, scale buildup on surfaces and equipment, and reduced sanitizer effectiveness. This fast-dissolving powder can be added directly to your spa water or pre-dissolved for quick pH correction.

Why Lower pH and Alkalinity?

Spa water naturally drifts upward in pH due to aeration from jets, outgassing of CO2, and bather use. High pH (above 7.8) significantly reduces chlorine’s sanitizing power and promotes calcium scale deposits on surfaces, heater elements, and plumbing. High total alkalinity makes pH harder to adjust and contributes to cloudy water. Regular testing and correction keeps your water balanced and your equipment protected.

How to Use

Test your spa water pH and total alkalinity first. If pH is above 7.6 or alkalinity exceeds 120 ppm, add Master Clear pH Down in small increments according to the product label. Circulate water for several minutes, then retest after 15–30 minutes. Adjust gradually — it’s easier to add more than to correct an overcorrection.
